Beginnings Are Always the Hardest

A huge welcome from me to you! I'm so glad you're here on my brand-new blog.

I titled this message "Beginnings are always the hardest" because, quite frankly, I struggled at first to figure out how I could best serve you here. What information do you, a busy mom like me, really need to get moving on your weight loss, on living more healthfully? How do I begin to share with you this tremendous gift of healthier living?

After much thought, I realized that that this shouldn't be just a typical blog. Because I don't want you to get "typical" results. I'm here to help you change your life.

Does that sound too dramatic? Because if it doesn't sound dramatic, I'm not doing this subject justice.

Because I am passionate about helping my fellow moms lose weight, put an end to stress about their bodies and start loving how they look and feel every day, and this new blog and everything we offer here is based on my commitment to helping you do that. I did it, it changed everything for me and I'm here to show you how you can succeed on your own healthy weight loss journey. I know you can do this too!

This blog is not only going to share how-to articles. Here I'm going to share stories, big ideas and insights about what it's really like to be a super-busy mama raising 2 young kids, running a business and trying to maintain balance (or, if you're not thrilled with that word, sanity) while integrating all of our crazy life demands into a healthy lifestyle. Add food allergies and sensitivities to that (different for each of the four of us), and you'll quickly see that it is a balancing act to take care of everyone, just as I'm sure you experience every day in your world too. And yet it's also glorious and rewarding, and I love every minute of it (well, mostly).

On this blog I will be sharing the human side of healthy living. I will be sharing the good and the bad so that you can see not only things that go right, but also how to recover.

I'm also going to stand here before you right now and, nervous though I am to do so, admit that there will be times when I write here about things that will challenge your beliefs. Because I want you to stretch. To get different results, things must change.

And in order to help you start or refine the next phase of your life's journey, I have to stand here and be wholly myself to give you my best stuff. I'm comfortable these days just being myself, but for most of my life I used food to cover up who I really was, how I really felt, what I really wanted from life, and this blog is here to give you freedom to embrace the real you -- the healthy, thin, attractive you who has infinite potential. So I too have to step up, be truly myself, give you my truth even when at times it isn't comfortable.

Please know that no matter what you need during your journey to the slim, healthy, happy, most fabulous you that you can be (and you're fabulous already, I'm sure!), I am here for you ... to guide, motivate, support, lend an ear and, yes, help you get started. Because beginnings are difficult, and I want you to have an easier time than I did (many false starts over years of trying).
