Rave: A source of delicious healthy treats

In case you’re looking for the occasional special sweet treat for yourself and loved ones, but want to make sure you select the healthiest possible options, I highly recommend Didi’s Baking for Health, which I discovered a few months ago when an online friend mentioned their link. Always curious, I had to check this place out for myself, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Most of the treats are perfectly healthy and contain only nuts, dried fruit and spices (though as always, if you are sensitive to dried fruit, forget I even mentioned this site!), though a few use a sparing amount of agave or brown rice syrup as sweetener. They also happen to taste really good — though some are certainly better than others, in my opinion.

My personal favorites are the Ko-Ko Krunchies, which are just hazelnuts, carob and dates, and the Coconut Cruncher Sun Gems. I have mentioned in the past that I am sensitive to dried fruit, but personally I seem to be fine as long as I have the dried fruit together with other heavier foods, such as the nuts and coconut in the Coconut Crunchers. Yum!

I’m hoping to learn how to make some treats similar to these myself later this year, but in the interim, I’m thrilled that there’s such a great source of healthy treats available that I don’t have to make from scratch.
