In case you wondered …

It occurred to me after my post about juicing that drinking kale juice and smoothies made with some spinach in them probably sounds pretty scary and weird if you’re just now starting to consider eating healthfully. Hey, who am I kidding? It even sounds weird to me, and yet I’m doing it (and not for the first time by any stretch!). :)

For what it’s worth, unless you have a specific health problem that requires it (and there are some, such as autoimmune diseases), you don’t have to be nearly as gung-ho as I am about your own eating, you don’t have to drink soylent green juice, and you’ll still find yourself thinner, healthier and more energetic than you’ve ever been in your life.

When I work with clients, I always work with the knowledge that the more healthfully you eat the better, but at the same time, we each have to decide for ourselves how far to go in that direction and determine what seems best for our lives and lifestyles.

As someone with health problems that crop up when I don’t eat pretty strictly, I do what I can to stay mainly in the super-high nutrient density category with as many foods as possible. It keeps me strong and healthy, and what else is food there for, after all, if isn’t keeping you well? (Yes, I enjoy pretty much everything I eat, and I’ll like the juice a bit more once a few more days have passed, but honestly, it’s not bad. You’d be surprised.)

Likewise, some women just won’t lose weight unless they’re pretty strict about what they eat, whereas others have a bit more leeway.

We’re all different, and that’s where having a coach working with you one on one is so valuable — I can tailor my recommendations to your specific needs and desires, and then you can take things from there. And if you have no desire to drink the dayglo green stuff, so be it. :)
